All about Marketing – Part 3

Marketing is very popular among companies right now. To be a good marketer, somebody must have mastered the principle. One of the famous principles is the STP process. S stands for Segmentation, T for targeting and P for positioning.

Segmentation is the process to identify segmentation variables and segment in the markets. It also develops profile of resulting segment. Targeting is a process which allow marketer to evaluate the attractiveness of each segment and select the target segment. While positioning is a process to create and use some images in order to sell the products. In order to use STP, marketers should be able to segment particular area into some segments, target something and make some positioning.

There are many variables which are well-known in segmentation, such as region, age, social class, family size, lifestyle, income, city size, and many others. Logo is also useful to make some positioning statement or slogan as we know it as tag-line. The logo must be something that is easy to be remembered. And it is important for the tagline to be something that is easy to say and remember. What you all can do are preparing the STP in order to be successful in marketing.
